The Stranger: Noise Complaint - Intisaar Jubran

  • The Stranger 1101 E Pike St Suite 300 Seattle, WA, 98122 United States (map)

The Stranger's Noise Complaint podcast opens its doors to spotlight local musicians through intimate live recording sessions. Featuring Seattle-based artist Intisaar Jubran, the session explores a sound that blends ’90s alt-rock with the intimacy of folk and the intricacy of progressive songwriting. Drawing inspiration from artists like Kate Bush, Fiona Apple, and Joni Mitchell, Jubran pairs candid, symbol-rich lyrics with expressive guitar work, weaving delicate fingerpicking and rhythmic strumming into a sound that balances acoustic warmth with a grungy edge.

Intisaar is a trio composed of singer songwriter Intisaar Jubran, Cellist Natalie Mae Hall, and drummer Greg Ferguson. Natalie and Intisaar released an album called Borrowed Ground in 2015, which featured experimental folk rock with a 90s female edge (think Tori Amos, Bjork, Alanis Morissette). Years later, the duo has rejoined forces, along with the energetic and technical drumming skills of Greg Ferguson to round out their dynamic sound. This trio is making their debut on the Noise Complaint podcast, and will then go on to perform at the Clockout Lounge in Beacon Hill for the 4th Radio Gaza fundraiser benefiting Heal Palestine (www.radiogaza.org).
